Experts in statistical modeling, medical imaging, health outcomes research, informatics, statistical genetics, genomics, and business administration convened as a core group even prior to the initiation of the CTSC. They have developed new methodologies and statistical analysis tools that solved problems lacking off-the-shelf solutions, are applicable to future research, and can accelerate movement along the 'discovery pathway' from laboratory to improved human health.

This Core Resource is focused on the development of new methodologies where none had existed, as well as finding novel, streamlined approaches to methodological problems; their solutions are applicable to future research, not limited to a specific project. They provide:

• Publications and academic programs in new methodology
• Infrastructure and statistical tools for future studies (i.e. software, code, and algorithms)
• Direct collaboration and/or funding to develop new methodologies and tools for meritorious requests in their core areas of interest.
