Alumni on program’s administration, faculty
Alan Hull M.D. '96, Ph.D.
Teresa E. Dews, M.D., and Ellen S. Rome, M.D., Class of 1988 graduates who served on the admissions committee (see “Alumni help admit first class”), are not the only School of Medicine alumni to have been involved with the College Program from its early stages. Alan L. Hull, M.D. ’96, Ph.D., is associate dean of curricular affairs and an associate professor of medicine for the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. He joined the faculties of the University of Michigan and Case Western Reserve University medical schools in 1979, focusing on medical education curriculum development and evaluation. Dr. Hull was appointed a staff physician at the Clinic in 1998 and directs the Clinic’s Center for Medical Education Research and Development. Through this role and as assistant program director for education and training in the National Institutes of Health-funded CCF General Clinical Research Center, Dr. Hull coordinates the institution’s education activities to improve clinical research, and he works with faculty to develop, implement and evaluate several courses. He has worked to integrate existing courses at the Clinic into programs available to College Program students.
