1965 graduate is ACC vice president
James Dove
James Dove ’65 was installed as vice president of the American College of Cardiology during the organization’s annual meeting in March. He is the founder and president of Prairie Cardiovascular Consultants, Ltd., Springfield, Ill, which has 42 board-certified cardiologists. The latest accolade for the practice came when, in its January 2005 issue, Physicians Practice magazine named PCC “Practice of the Year” for 2004. A nationally respected leader in his field, Dr. Dove has toured the country giving dozens of medical course presentations and lectures. He also has promoted cardiology education with 31 peer-reviewed publications, three textbooks and 16 published abstracts. He is a clinical professor of medicine at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. A 28-year member of the ACC, Dr. Dove has chaired or served as a member on dozens of committees and advisory groups, as well as serving as president and governor of the Illinois state chapter. He currently is chair of the ACC Budget, Finance and Investments Committee. |
