Campaign update

Library renovations, student scholarships remain areas of greatest need

Generous contributions from individuals, foundations, associations and corporations to the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine’s Campaign for the Future of Academic Medicine continue to propel the campaign closer to its overall goal of $300 million. With the overall campaign surpassing the 94 percent attainment rate, the portions of the campaign dedicated to gifts related to renovating the Health Sciences Library and medical student scholarships remain the portions with the greatest need.

Pledges to the capital campaign topped $283 million at the end of April. Raised as of April 30 was 22 percent of the campaign’s goal to raise $10 million to renovate, modernize and integrate the library; 62 percent of the goal to raise $50 million for medical student scholarships; 71 percent of the goal to raise $40 million to renovate research labs and educational facilities; 91 percent of the campaign’s goal to raise $75 million for equipment and other facilities for education and research; 95 percent of the goal to raise $50 million for named professorships; and 142 percent of the goal to raise $75 million for support of basic and clinical science research programs.

The campaign began July 1, 1994. Every gift made to the School of Medicine since then has been counted toward the campaign goal.
