6th International Epilepsy Colloquium

The International Epilepsy Colloquium represents a joint initiative from the epilepsy centers ofUniversityHospitalsCaseMedicalCenter, the Marburg Epilepsie Zentrum inGermany, the Lyon University Hospitals Institute for Children and Adolescents with Epilepsy-IDEE, andGrenobleUniversityHospitalinFrance. The focus of the Colloquium is on Tumoral Epilepsy and Epilepsy Surgery.   

The Colloquium will be preceded by a Comprehensive Epileptology Course which will consist primarily of case discussions with active participation of the audience and a panel of experts. The Course covers all areas of epileptology providing an excellent overview.  

Also included is a 3D Stereotactic in Epilepsy Surgery conference which includes a hands-on workshop and a Source Imaging in Epilepsy satellite conference.

The faculty participating in this series of events was carefully selected to include highly experienced epileptologists who are superb clinicians and excellent teachers.

16th Management of Humanitarian Emergencies

After a one-year hiatus Management of Humanitarian Emergencies - Focus on Children, Women and Families will be offered June 3-7, 2013, at the Wolstein Research Building on the campus of Case Western Reserve University.

Now in its 16th year, this intensive interactive course examines the key problems and priorities in disaster situations as they relate to the most vulnerable victims of disasters. This course provides a holistic multidisciplinary approach to effectively address the complex medical, psychosocial and public health challenges facing children, women and families affected by humanitarian emergencies. In addition, the importance of identifying cultural components to both population-based and clinical interventions is emphasized throughout this course. By offering a solid mix of didactic lectures and problem-based learning exercises targeted at a variety of skill levels, this course provides the preparation you need to effectively work on behalf of vulnerable populations in a disaster setting.
