Research Summary:

Yingjie Cui, MD, Assistant Professor, Director of Rodent Cardiovascular Physiology Laboratory. Dr Cui's research interest is focused on lymphatic vascular biology, and its impact on cardiovascular disease occurrence and therapy. These studies include exploring the role of endothelial progenitor cells in lymphangiogenesis, characterizing cardiac collecting lymphatic vessel pumping manner in physiological and pathological conditions by applying mouse cardiac hypertrophy, myocardial infarction, and heart transplantation models. Particularly, Dr Cui's research emphasizes on how mediastinal lymph flow impairment cause heart and lung dysfunction, and the treatment of cardiopulmonary diseases by improving mediastinal lymph flow.
