Research Summary:

Dr. Atkins is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Case Cardiovascular Research Institute at Case Western Reserve University and a junior faculty member in the Cardiovascular Division at University Hospitals-Case Medical Center.  Dr. Atkins’ research focuses primarily on cardiovascular transcriptional biology.  Specifically, he studies the transcription factor Kruppel-like factor 2 (KLF2) and it’s role as a critical factor in endothelial biology.
