The Cardiac Exam: Auscultation

Quadruple Gallop (56 BPM)

When all four heart sounds, S1, S2, S3, and S4, are heard together in the same patient, this is called a quadruple gallop.

Once the quadruple gallop beyond about 110 beats per minute, the quadruple gallop becomes as summation gallop as you are no longer able to distinguish between S3, and S4.
