This site is designed to teach physical diagnosis to medical school students at various levels in their education. Learning objectives for each level are clearly stated, with links to the related material. An introduction to the cardiovascular system, history taking in the cardiac exam and physical for the cardiac exam, including observation, palpation, percussion, and auscultation are covered.
In addition, information and links to additional resources are included. These resources not only supplement the core education material, but also allow comments for future improvement and enhancement of this website site.

I would especially like to thank James Carter, MD and Dean Thomas Nosek, PhD for their advise and support in making this website possible and for the continued support of this site by the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
An article about this website was published in Academic Medicine in 2001 (DC Kaelber, SB Bierer, and JR Carter. A Web-based Clinical Curriculum on the Cardiac Exam. Academic Medicine. 76(5):448-449. 2001).
The site was initially designed as a test development site for an on-line physical diagnosis curriculum in 1999. To date the Cardiac Exam of this curriculum has been developed.
I hope you find this site helpful in augmenting your physical diagnosis training.
