Budd Wentz, M.D. '58 was featured in the Cleveland Plain Dealer on August 3, 2008 as part of the "A World at War" series. Budd piloted a B-17 which was rammed by a Luftwafe jet in April, 1945. The story and an accompanying video are available on the Class of 1958 page.

Honored by Laurel School. Shaker Heights (May, 2008) - Dr. McKinley is named Distinguished Alumna at the annual Laurel School Alumnae Reunion. Lissa was also the featured speaker at the White Coat Ceremony at Severance Hall on Sunday, July 13, 2008 for the incoming Medical School Class of 2012.

Lecture at CWRU School of Medicine. Cleveland (April 15, 2008) - The long-standing Amici Medicinae (Friends of Medicine) program featured Jeffrey L. Ponsky, MD '71, Chair, Department of Surgery, speaking on "Surgery of the Future." A crowded Frohring Auditorium at the School of Medicine enjoyed a reception and Dr. Ponsky's talk.
Receives David King Community Clinical Scientist Award. Rockville, Maryland (April 3, 2008) – The Association of Community Cancer Centers has presented J. Philip Kuebler, MD, PhD with the Association of Community Cancer Centers' annual David King Community Clinical Scientist Award. Dr. Kuebler is medical director for oncology research at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, and principal investigator of the Columbus Community Oncology Program.
Guest Lecturer at CWRU School of Medicine. Cleveland (April 1, 2008) - Dr. Patz returned to the School of Medicine, presenting a talk on "Global Warming & Health: Great Risks and Opportunities." The lecture was co-sponsored by the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, School of Medicine and WHO Collaborating Center for Nursing, Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing. Dr. Patz is Professor and Director of Global Environmental Health, University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is a member of Al Gore's Nobel Peace Prize Winning Team.

Named President of Ohio Thoracic Society. Cleveland (January 2008) - Dr. Renston is on staff at University Suburban Health Center in South Euclid. His specialty is Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Renston is Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.

Receives Friedenwald Medal. Bethesda, Maryland (May 1, 2006) – The American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) named Norton Greenberger, M.D. the recipient of its 2006 Julius Friedenwald Medal for Distinguished Service for his lifelong contributions to the field of gastroenterology.
