2008 - 2009 ADMISSIONS TIMELINE

University Program, College Program and the MSTP

Primary Application
  • On or About June 5, 2008: Earliest filing date through AMCAS for preliminary applications.
  • November 1, 2008: Latest filing date through AMCAS for consideration of preliminary AMCAS application.
  • July 1 - November 1: Admissions Office receives verified AMCAS preliminary applications and electronically invites all applicants to complete Case’s Secondary Application.

* IMPORTANT NOTES*

*The AMCAS verification processing can take up to 4-6 weeks from the time that your application and all required official transcripts are received at AMCAS, and can take significantly longer during peak processing times. Medical Schools do not receive your application until it is verified by AMCAS.

* Letters of Recommendation - It is acceptable to have your letters sent before your Secondary Application is received. However, your application will not be reviewed until you have submitted the secondary application and all Letters of Recommendation have been received.


Secondary Application
  • July 1, 2008: Earliest filing date for submitting the electronic secondary application.
  • December 15, 2008: Latest filing date for submitting the electronic secondary application.
  • July – December 15: Admissions receives and reviews Secondary Applications. Qualified applicants are electronically invited to schedule an interview at Case.
  • September – February: Interviewing season.

Accepted Applicants
  • March 2009 (Date TBA): Second Look Weekend for accepted students.
  • April 2009: Interviewed applicants "on hold after interview" are notified about alternate list decisions.
  • April 15, 2009: Accepted MSTP and CCLCM applicants - Notify MSTP or CCLCM of your final decision regarding your intention to attend CCLCM or MSTP and release acceptances to other schools.
  • May 1, 2009: Accepted University Program applicants - Notify the University Program of your final decision regarding your intention to attend Case and release acceptances to other schools. Since our classes begin in July, the AAMC Recomendations for Medical Schools allows for an earlier notification date. Please review the AAMC Recommendations for Applicants to understand your responsibilities in this portion of the matriculation process.
  • April – July: Case may accept students placed on the alternate list.
  • July: Classes begin.
