HOW to APPLY

Medical School (including MSTP)...

If you'd like to apply to the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, including the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University, you'll need to initiate the process on the Internet through the American Medical Colleges Application Service.

Please be sure to review our application procedures carefully. Take special note of the following admissions timeline, which could jeopardize your application if not followed. We have a rolling admissions process and slots in the program may become filled with earlier applicants. Any changes in your status should be reported to our office as well as to AMCAS.

Graduate Education...

You may apply to graduate school at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine through two ways, the Biomedical Scientist Training Program or the School of Graduate Studies, depending on the degree program. For all master degree programs and Ph.D. programs in biomedical engineering, molecular medicine, and epidemiology and biostatistics, students should apply through the School of Graduate Studies. For all other Ph.D. programs, apply through our common entry program, the Biomedical Sciences Training Program, by Jan. 15.

Students must meet certain criteria in undergraduate coursework, research experience and exams to attain entrance into the School of Medicine graduate programs. We look for a solid foundation in the basic sciences including organic chemistry, biology, biochemistry, molecular biology and calculus. Additionally, the Graduate Record Examination and the Test of English as a Foreign Language for those from non-English speaking foreign countries are required. Applicants also should have previous experience in conducting original research, such as an undergraduate honors thesis, summer research or technical laboratory position.
