The School of Medicine is affiliated with some of the best hospitals in the United States which has become one of the most distinct qualities of the School. Since CWRU is the only medical school in Cleveland, our students have exclusive access and are exposed to an impressive variety of diverse clinical experiences. University Hospitals (UH) is a community-based health care system which serves patients at University Hosptials Case Medical Center , Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital, and more than 150 locations throughout Northern Ohio, including seven wholly owned and four affiliated hospitals.
Committed to advanced care and advanced caring, UH encompasses the region's largest network of primary care physicians, outpatient centers and hospitals. The network also offers specialty care physicians to treat almost every disease and condition, skilled nursing, elder health, rehabilitation and home care services, and occupational health and wellness.

Cleveland Clinic is a not-for-profit, multispecialty academic medical center that integrates clinical and hospital care with research and education.

Arguably, one the nation’s premier public safety-net hospitals that opens its doors to all who need care. The MetroHealth System is one of the largest, most comprehensive health care providers in Northeast Ohio , serving the medical needs of the Greater Cleveland community for 170 years. More than 500 primary care and specialty care physicians practice within The MetroHealth System. Affiliated since 1914 with Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, MetroHealth is a center for medical research and education, with all active staff physicians holding Case faculty appointments.
The MetroHealth System is comprised of a major medical center, a rehabilitation hospital, two long-term care/skilled nursing centers, an outpatient surgery center, and a network of community-based health care centers. MetroHealth is the only hospital in Ohio with American College of Surgeons Level I verification for adult and pediatric trauma and a verified burn unit. MetroHealth receives over 3,000 trauma admissions per year which places the trauma center in the top 10% of the nation in trauma volume. MetroHealth is also home to the internationally recognized MetroHealth LifeFlight critical care transport service.
MetroHealth Medical Center, located on the near west side of Cleveland, is a leader in trauma, emergency and critical care; women’s and children’s services, including high-risk obstetrical care and neonatal intensive care; comprehensive medical and surgical subspecialties; heart and vascular care; cancer care; senior health; stroke and rehabilitative health care services. MetroHealth Medical Center offers the most advanced techniques in treating complex medical problems.

The Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center is a state-of-the-art facility that provides care and services to over 95,000 veterans (nation's fifth largest) each year in northern Ohio, through two inpatient facilities, twelve community based outpatient clinics and three vet centers. The medical center has been recognized for more programs of clinical excellence than any other VAMC: Open Heart Surgery, Care of the Seriously Mentally Ill, Geriatric Evaluation and Management, Substance Abuse Care, Spinal Cord Injury Care, Medical Care of the Homeless, and Domiciliary Care of the Homeless.
The Cleveland VA Medical Center has a large, well-funded research and development program including studies in biomedical research, health services research, clinical and cooperative studies, and rehabilitation research. The Cleveland VA also has two VA-funded centers of excellence - the internationally recognized Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) Center and the newly funded Advance Platform Technology Center.
The medical center hosts the offices of the VA Regional Counsel, the National Office of Information Service Center, the Office of Resolution Management, and the Chief, Podiatry Services for the VA.
