Student Organization Web Policies

The School of Medicine Web allows students to promote university educational opportunities and activities to a local, regional, and international community that includes alumni, current and prospective students, faculty, staff, and friends. Types of example websites allowed include medical interest groups, school clubs and school committees.
The Office of Administrative Computing oversees the structure, development and management of the School of Medicine website, determines guidelines for consistent graphic design, writing style, and accuracy of official information for the home page (located at http://casemed.case.edu/) and the pages linked directly to it.

Student Responsibilities:

  1. All student website requests must have the approval of the Director of Administrative Computing, the CSR or some other student body representative group and a Society Dean. (See attached, approval form)
  2. Once a request has been approved, the Office of Administrative Computing will provide space on our server for the website.
  3. Student(s) SOM website owners and publishers are responsible for the content of their pages and are subject to all university policies including School of Medicine professionalism standards.
  4. Student(s) are responsible for creation and maintenance of their website. The Office of Administrative Computing will not be able to provide any technical or design support other than SOM Case templates.
  5. The School of Medicine design policy listed below must be followed:

Student(s) are required to provide a plan for continuation of the website upon their move into years 3/4 and/or graduation. Administrative Computing will periodically monitor the website for appropriateness and will retain the option of suspending/deleting the website (upon informing a Society Dean) after some period of non-communication by the student with our office or upon graduation if the website is not being maintained after graduation.
