ACCESSING SHARED DRIVES: T-DRIVE

  1. While connected either to the wired network connection at your desk or via the VPN software, click on your desktop or the Finder icon in the dock.
  2. From the Go menu choose Connect to Server
  3. Enter the server address smb://cerebellum.case.edu
  4. If prompted, enter your ADS as the domain, your Case Network ID, and your password.
  5. In a few moments, an Explorer window will open showing the network Shares available on this server.
  6. You will not have access to most of the shares. However, a few of the shares will be of interest and very helpful to you.
  7. The network resource you will want to make use of is the FileTransfer area (often called the “T Drive” as that is what we map it to).  There are several gigabytes of files used by students on this network share. Rather than sending large files to everyone via e-mail, a better way is to put the large files here, then send an announcement to the class that the file is in the File Transfer folder.  The “T Drive” is available at any time you are plugged in to a network cable here on campus or are using VPN on wireless.
  8. From off-campus, we suggest you use the WebDav connection.  To connect via WebDav, click on your desktop or the Finder icon in the dock.
  9. From the Go menu choose Connect to Server
  10. Enter the server address https://cerebellum.case.edu
