Updates:

  • June 5: Registration is now open for signing up for a Computer Orientation session. Every student must attend one session so that we can finish setting up your laptop and have it ready for the first day.
  • June 2: Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) instructions have been e-mailed to incoming students. These instructions will help you start getting your laptop set up for use here at Case Western Reserve University.
  • April 16: Minimum specifications for older laptops (Windows or MacOS). Please note, these are minimum specifications. If you have more or better, then it is much better.
    • 3rd Gen core i5 or i7 processor (less than 4 years old)
    • 8GB RAM
    • 200GB HD or larger (or be comfortable swapping files to an external drive or flash drives)
    • Screen resolution 1024 x 768 or better
    • Wireless 802.11g or better
    • Gigabit Ethernet built-in or with adapter (not required, but recommended if you plan on downloading large files)
    • Screen 12" or better recommended (for exams)
    • 4 hour or better battery life (buy a new one, if you can't meet this requirement)
    • Windows 8 (not home edition) or newer
    • MacOS 10.9 or newer
