Updates:

  • June 23: Wednesday, June 25th is the last day for us to receive an approved personally owned or order laptop to ensure that we will have it set up and ready to go for the start of classes.
  • June 17: Laptops ordered after today are unlikely to arrive and be set up in time for classes. We will continue to order laptops right up until school starts. But, please understand, that if you have not placed an order yet, your laptop may not be ready.
  • June 13: We're getting close to the start of school. A few students have not made laptop selections yet. Do not forget to register for a Computer Orientation session.
  • June 3: Registration for the Computer Distribution and Orientation session is now open.
  • June 2: The registration site for Computer Orientation sessions will open tomorrow.
  • May 27: The first order of laptops has been placed. We will continue to order laptops on a weekly basis right up until the start of classes.
  • May 22: The first order for the laptops will go out on May 27th. As we get closer to the start of classes, the risk increases that laptops ordered late will not arrive on time or be set up in time for classes.
  • May 13: The final prices are posted for the Lenovo and Apple laptops. We were able to get a slightly better discount on some of the accessories. A slightly lower price may be coming on the Dell laptops, if we can make a change in the external hard drive.
  • May 9: We have a revision on the Lenovo prices. Please do not select them yet. We hope to have this resolved later today.
  • May 8: A typo was made on the Laptop Comparison page. The Dell laptops come with 500GB Hybrid Drives, not Solid State Drives. The page has been updated. The iApply page is open for making your laptop selections. The prices and specifications have been updated. However, we are still waiting on revisions for the MacBook Pro 15".
  • May 2: This year we will offer the following laptops and models:
    • Dell Latitude E5440 (14")
    • Dell Latitude E5540 (15")
    • Lenovo ThinkPad T440p (14")
    • Lenovo ThinkPad T540p (15")
    • Apple MacBook Pro 13"
    • Apple MacBook Pro 15" (Retina).
    • The models, some specifications have been posted. The remaining specs and prices will be posted in the next few days.
    • The iApply page for placing your order will be available on May 7th.
  • April: Conclude evaluations and begin price negotiations.
  • February: Begin investigating laptop vendors and options for Class of 2018.
