  • August 9th: Instructions for Installing Google Chrome on the Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit posted
  • July 7th: Classes Begin
  • July 1st: Orientations begin
  • June 24th: We just received bad news from main campus. Our site license with Microsoft no longer allows us to install Windows 7 Ultimate for students. Everyone will now have Windows 7 Enterprise.
  • June 17th: We have new prices on the PGP encryption software. Due to a School of Medicine bulk purchase, the software is $103 less for Dell laptops and $206 less for Mac laptops (Macs need 2 copies). As a result, the overall laptop prices have been reduced. If you have already ordered a laptop, you will be charged the new lower price!
  • May 23rd: The Computer Distribution & Orientation Session page is now open. We are placing our first orders for laptops today.
  • May 20th: Updated the policy following policy: Students bringing or buying approved laptops on their own will be subject to the following conditions when the warranty expires; 1) they will have to go to contact the vendor directly (Apple store or Dell) for repairs, 2) our office will not provide a loaner laptop, except for exams.
  • May 17th: We just received new battery information on the Dell laptops (see the Comparison page)
  • May 16th: The laptop count table below now has real information and will be updated periodically.
  • May 13th: The link for ordering your laptop is now live on your iApply page.
  • May 9th: The prices on the laptops have been posted on the Notebook Comparison Table. There are also some updates on the FAQ page explaining the prices and what to do if you want to buy a Dell or Apple on your own.
  • April 29th: Updated the Notebook Comparison Table after an incoming student found an error. The MacBook Pro has both the integrated Intel HD 3000 and the discrete AMD Radeon HD 6490M graphics cards. The AMD card is used for graphics intensive applications like PhotoShop. It is a better card than the Intel card. Way to go incoming students, keep us honest!!
  • April 25th: Incoming students may begin placing laptop orders from their iApply website.
  • April 18th: Incoming student laptop website goes live!
