UH Receives $1.5 Million Grant for Rainbow's Center for Minimally Pediatric Surgery (9.16.06) University Hospitals has been awarded a grant of $1.5 million by the Cleveland Foundation to support the establishment of the Center for Minimally Invasive Pediatric Surgery at Rainbow. Dr. Al Cohen, Professor of Neurological Surgery and Surgeon-in-Chief at Rainbow is the Project Director. This investment is the largest gift the Cleveland Foundation has ever made to a hospital. The Foundation was particularly impressed by the breadth and depth of expertise that already exists in each of the surgical specialties at Rainbow. This major grant will be used to raise the bar of excellence in pediatric surgery and help Rainbow achieve its goal of becoming the national destination center for minimally invasive surgery for children.
